Ladybugs can fly. They have a set of large wings hidden underneath their hard shell. They open their shell, unfold their wings, and take off.       Usually ladybugs live for about 1 year.             Most ladybugs are about 1/8 - 1/2 inch long.   Ladybugs live near plants. You can find them almost anywhere there are living things.           Gardners love ladybugs because they eat lots of insects that hurt plants. Some ladybugs can eat more than 5,000 aphids (a small bug) in their life.
